Officially called Mission San Francisco Javier de Viggé-Biaundó, the majestic San Javier Mission is preserved from its original structure more than 300 years ago.

History
According to the stories of the natives, it says that the Jesuits first settled in Loreto and thought of changing their establishment due to problems with water for sustenance, it was the locals who recommended a site between the mountains and it was where San Javier was founded.
During the first years of its foundation, this problem existed, which they solved by creating small dams, aqueducts, storage and other techniques for sustaining water-based.
San Javier has been a place where there have been generations of families to this day who preserve the roots and traditions from those times, such as the production of olive oil, animal care and more cultural traditions.

Where the mission of San Javier is located?
To get to this mission, you must travel on a well-kept road for approximately 40 minutes from Loreto-Nopolo.
San Javier is located approximately 16 miles from Loreto in the middle of the Sierra de la Giganta, the road is well maintained and any type of private transport can circulate, there are curves all along the road because you practically have to climb the mountains to gain 1400 feet of altitude. You must constantly cross stream causes, it is recommended that you do not circulate if there are forecasts of rain.
